Procedural Rock Tool

This project showcases a procedural rock generation tool developed in Houdini, designed for creating versatile and production-ready assets.

The tool generates a customizable rock base shape and supports additional layered details such as icicles and snow. For the icicle formation, a pyro simulation approach was used to achieve more natural and organic results.

Each rock asset can automatically output RGB masks, giving users greater control in Unreal Engine. These masks can be used to drive material effects such as edge wear, wetness, and ambient occlusion, allowing for flexible and dynamic shader setups.

Inside Unreal Engine, a master material was created to fully utilize these masks and enable efficient look development. Additionally, the PCG (Procedural Content Generation) framework was used to scatter foliage across the rocks, enhancing environmental storytelling and realism.

This tool is designed to streamline environment creation workflows while maintaining high visual quality and artistic control.
